Halloween, Part 1

Last night our little baby cow went to his first Halloween party! "Hill-o-ween" is the big block party on Capitol Hill, full of things Julian will appreciate a bit more next year and beyond (hay rides, balloon animals.) He had mixed feelings about his cow costume, but it is warm and he took a snuggly nap in it!

Now holding office hours

This is my desk.  As you can see I'm very busy.  Very very very busy.  Watch out, because I am a tough boss.  I'm not afraid to tell this lion to shape-up, or to dock the pay of this monkey for monkeying around on the job.

We love books

Julian loves books. Sure, he'll probably have an e-reader by the first grade, but you know what? You just can't snuggle with an e-reader...

Happy Eater

Julian is really starting to love rice cereal, and now seems aware that it's for ingesting, and is not just some wacky gooey toy.

Enter, the banana

In our first installment of Julian: The Movie, our young protagonist enters a brave new world of flavors and textures. This movie might need a happier sequel.

What do babies do for fun?

Go to the movies, of course! That's what we did this week, with our friends Sandra and Jessie. Don't worry, we weren't stoned and booed by the other patrons - it was a special mommy/baby day at the theatre. Julian LOVED it, and followed the plot completely. We saw "Waiting for Superman," and he became outraged at all the right parts. He takes after Mommy!

We also had baby happy hour after work hours. It's sometimes hard for Julian to stay awake in the early evening but he'll do anything to hang with his buddy Rebecca. Who loves to hold his hand. Or arm, or bib, or head. It's very lovey.

Friendship

This is what friendship looks like when you're 5 months old - exciting, but a little stressful! The first photo is with Julian's friend Natalie Cavender at the petting zoo during a local Fall festival. The second photo is with one-day-younger friend Rebecca McCracken, who couldn't resist pulling on Julian's delicious ear.

My new seats

Now that I am big and strong, I have two new seats! This is my Bumbo seat, which goes on the floor. It's fun for playing across from my parents.

From Sitting in my seats

I also tried out my new high chair from Uncle Doug & Aunt Katie! Mommy did try to feed me some glop in it, but I was wholly uninterested and we gave up for now. The tray is useful for resting my toys, and for Skype-ing.

And here is my good old favorite seat - on my Boppy, on my Mommy, in the nursing chair. This is where I do my eating thang, and get the occasional tasty bottle.

Yom Kippur

We headed to Philadelphia for Yom Kippur. Julian wore his most fancy vest for the occasion. We took a nice walk to Rittenhouse Square while Daddy and Zayda were fasting. Glo Glo made a great meal to break the fast and Julian met new relatives and friends.
