More Shore Photos

Here's a final batch of shore trip photos. We followed some of our favorite routines (playing, taking naps) but also had a few more unusual adventures, like when Pop-Pop and Daddy plucked a poor lost bird out of the chimney. (!) Mostly, Julian loved being drenched in attention (apologies to Rosie the dog, the 2nd-most-favorite play pal.)

Walking the boards

We of course made a trip to the Ocean City Boardwalk during our shore vacation. It was lovely with a nice breeze and small September crowds. Cool enough for a sweater but warm enough for ice cream!

On the Beach

Julian made it to the beach and ocean for the first time - and was a little underwhelmed. (Julian: "That giant bathtub is just too big for effective splashing.") We took a walk with Glo Glo and Zayda on the beach, where Julian fell asleep behind his little sunglasses...

And then two days later we went oceanfront with Grandma and Pop-Pop, where Julian dipped his toes in sand and salt.

Baby Pool

We spent last week on vacation - hooray! Here's the first of many posts: pictures from Julian's very first time in a baby pool. He was a little neutral on the experience, and kept looking at us as if to say, "Mommy. Daddy. Clothes OFF before the bath!" (As always, click on the link below the photo to see more...)

Spur-of-the-moment family portrait

Our friend Corey was nice enough to take a zillion pictures of the three of us (we never seem to all get in the same photo.) Here are the results!

It was a good summer...

We had so many great friends visit this summer. What can we say, Julian loves to entertain!

Baseball fan

Here's a belated posting of some pix from our Labor Day outing to the Nationals game.   It was everyone's first time to the stadium - which is conveniently right near our house.  We lasted 5 innings, long enough to see the Nats score a few runs against the stinky Mets.  (Go Phillies!)

Rosh Hashanah

We celebrated the Jewish new year with a small dinner together. John made kasha and varnishkes, among other things. (Suffice to say we have leftovers...) The next morning we walked over to high holiday services held in a local church by Hill Havurah. Shana tova, everyone!

Playtime

I love to play when I am awake... and I have some new games that I taught Mommy and Daddy. Here is the first one, called Tug of War. I love to grab these rings and pull really, really hard.

And here is another game I play, where I hold and kiss my Dino, all by myself.

SO big. Really, very big.

Julian went to his four month pediatrician appointment on Friday, where he weighed in at a stunning 14 lbs., 12 oz., and was 25 inches long.

He had to get some shots, but was very brave, and had a nice bottle afterward. For a special treat on the way home, we stopped at Marvelous Market for kids sing-a-long evening.

Just to reflect on how far this little guy has come: he was 5 lbs. 5 oz. at birth on April 27th. Most babies roughly double their birth size by about five months old.  Julian smashed right through that expectation and is on the way to TRIPLING his birth size by that milestone!  He really could not be more healthy. And cute. And sweet. Here's a photo from his first pediatrician appointment.  Look at those skinny little legs and giant diaper!  And all that hair! (don't worry buddy, it will grow back, we promise)

The Theory of Relativity

I've gotten so big my car seat seems very snug now...

...but I look so little now that I've started using the normal stroller seat!

Palmyra

Last weekend Julian made his first trip to Grandma and Pop-Pop's house in Palmyra. He met all sorts of relatives for the first time. Cousin Marcia and Chuck hosted a lovely get-together (thanks Cuz!)

We were worried Julian would miss the whole thing, as he fell asleep about 4 blocks away and snoozed through the first 2 hours of his own welcoming party. But he eventually woke up and got passed around to everyone, including Cousin Marcia, Aunt Gloria, Aunt Claire, Uncle Jim, Cousin Julie, and little cousin Emily (poor cousin Molly had to leave while Julian was still asleep.)

On Sunday, we headed off for a get-together at our friends Ange and Mike's house (where we also celebrated Mike's appointment last week as the new Dauphin County Commissioner!) Our friends Karrie and Jason and their girls came too.

Julian loved all the attention, and loved seeing the big kids!
